What are the Registration Categories?


NRCPD
From February 2012, NRCPD (The National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People) set up a restructured list of their registration categories.

What are the new categories?

There is a Registered and Trainee category for each of the six professions NRCPD regulate:

RSLI - Registered Sign Language Interpreter
TSLI - Trainee Sign Language Interpreter

RIDB - Registered Interpreter for Deafblind People
TIDB - Trainee Interpreter for Deafblind People

RSLT - Registered Sign Language Translator
TSLT - Trainee Sign Language Translator

RLIP - Registered Lipspeaker
TLIP - Trainee Lipspeaker

RSTT - Registered Speech to Text Reporter
TSTT - Trainee Speech to Text Reporter

*Registered Notetaker
*Trainee Notetaker

* Current Notetaking registration categories will continue until the NRCPD Board has considered the findings of current research into Notetaking.
